You can lose money or make money on the development of a cell tower. Generally, to be profitable, a cell tower requires two wireless carriers. Good cell towers can generate $50,000 to $100,000 in profit per year. However, unless you have a good idea that your property is going to be of interest to two wireless carriers, it isn't worth building except in some isolated cases. Wireless carriers almost never though choose a property because the landowner wants to build a tower. They find landowners who have a property in their search rings.
