Good afternoon. Good to hear from you. It sounds to me like AT&T did upgrades on the nearby sites- that while likely improving service for their clients who are closer to the tower than you, may have reduced coverage out your way. Six miles away could be far enough where changes on the tower could reduce your service.
Unfortunately, I don’t know that AT&T will be interested in collocating on the Verizon tower (especially since they are trying to avoid ATC sites due to high rent). They might be interested in building- but trying to reach out to them is very unlikely to change anything.
Your best bet would be for you and your neighbors that use AT&T to submit trouble tickets with their service line. I think it is 611 on your cell phone. Let them know that your phone previously worked and no longer does. They will likely try to get you to bring the phone in to check it.
Another option besides switching from AT&T to Verizon would be to get a cell extender or femtocell that connects to your WIFI at home. Look up Wilson Amplifiers.
Or better yet, you might seriously look at porting your number over to Verizon. They have a sub-brand called Visible that is running a $40/mo unlimited calls/data special- but you had to sign up through your phone. Not advocating for AT&T or Verizon above each other- but if you need coverage and Verizon is nearby- switch carriers. https://www.visible.com/
