Good morning. Thank you for reaching out to us. The process isn't much different for public schools in most cases in terms of attracting wireless tenants as described in our article on getting a cell tower on your property. Generally, school districts are one of the least preferred locations for towers given the possibility of parents being upset and contesting the tower either before or after it is erected. Of course, there are many schools that have cell towers- including a good number of our clients. These are normally replacements for existing light towers for football fields or baseball fields, but not always.
One thing I will suggest that is different in your situation is that Kalamazoo and other central MI locations typically have more difficult zoning - so if you have existing structures on your property- it might be more desirable to the wireless carriers.
Either way, it isn't something that we could help with. We just aren't equipped to try to market raw land properties (school or otherwise) to the wireless carriers. You might check with a company like Milestone Communications.
