For a WISP (wireless internet service provider), there isn't really an average price for renting space. Many try to get space on sites by offering a share of revenue from their clients. NEVER agree to this- too hard to document and confirm their actual revenue stream.
If you are a WISP, you likely have found out that tower companies (the large public ones) really don't make it cheap or easy to rent from them. They don't like to give up space on the tower especially if there is a chance in the future that space could go to a longer term higher rent wireless carrier.
If you are a tower company and have a WISP approaching you, I wouldn't recommend letting someone on the tower for less than $500/mo. While many WISPs can't or won't pay that, it shouldn't matter unless you intend to do it as a community service. While there are very professional WISPs, there are also ones without much of a business plan who won't last long and to whom you will likely end up removing the equipment from the tower when they stop paying rent.
