Your understanding is correct for the most part. A colocation is the original installation of equipment on a structure owned by another entity. An amendment is the addition of equipment to the same rad center or a separate rad center on the tower. Note that it would not be a new collocation unless a separate entire lease was signed for the separate rad center. For the most part, it is fairly rare to have separate leases signed for separate rad centers- most of the time the lease is just amended.
