Silos can be tall enough to count as "alternative structures," which means that they might not be ideal, howerver if there are no other structures available that suit the wireless carrier, than it's certainly possible they could be chosen to host antennas. Usually, antennas are mounted on silos in the manner depicted below, on the outside of the structure. Sometimes, the antennas are mounted inside the curved, roof of the structure then the silo cap, or roof, is replaced with a material that is RF invisible (allows the cell signals to pass through it).
